Sanremo Opera group display with temperature and shot time
How it works

Sanremo technology

Multiboiler, Hybrid circuit, pressure profiles, Sanremo IoT and Sanremo Link. What they mean and which machines have them.

Groups and steam wands of the Sanremo F18
Technology

Multiboiler

Every group has its own coffee boiler and steam is made in a separate boiler. Steaming milk does not affect brewing temperature and each group can be set differently. In F18 the group boilers receive pre-heated water from the heat exchangers and a heating element keeps temperature within ±0.2°C (Realtime Stability). Café Racer controls temperature at four PID points.

Technology

Hybrid circuit

The D8 platform has one AISI 316L steel boiler, but the Hybrid hydraulic circuit lets you set group temperature from 90 to 98°C and steam pressure at 1.0, 1.2 or 1.5 bar. On D8 PRO each group has its own temperature setting. It gives control close to a multiboiler machine with a simpler build.

CDS and pressure profiles

On Opera 2.0 every group has its own gear pump. The CDS system splits extraction into pre-infusion, infusion and post-infusion, and for each phase you set pressure, water volume and time. Profiles can be saved and copied to another machine through the app. YOU offers similar control on one group: 6 preset profiles, 12 custom ones and the Paddle lever.

Technology

Flowactive pre-infusion

Pre-infusion is a short wetting of the coffee before full pressure. On F18 and Café Racer it is programmable to 0.1 s, with four profiles per group. The Flowactive system controls water flow and pre-infusion time separately for each button.

Connectivity

sanremo iot

Remote access to the machine from a computer or the Android and iOS app. View parameters, change settings, get maintenance alerts and real-time diagnostics. The system supports API integration, cloud and BI tools, so it also suits coffee chains.

Technology

more solutions

  • Sanremo Link

A cable connection between machine and grinder. The machine corrects the grind in real time and less coffee ends up in the bin. Optional on D8 and Zoe.

  • Steam System

Automatic frothing of dairy and plant milk. The 6th Sense function adjusts parameters to the amount of milk and the PEEK tip is easy to clean. Optional on D8 and Zoe.

  • Energy Saving

Boiler insulation and heating control electronics. Up to 40% less energy on Opera 2.0 and Café Racer, more than 20% on F18 SB.

  • AISI 316L steel

Boilers and groups in stainless steel resistant to corrosion and limescale. An Opera 2.0 group weighs 10 kg, a Café Racer group 8 kg.

  • Cool Touch

Double-wall steam wands that stay cool during long use, with Latte Art tips.

  • Competition filters

Filter baskets designed by Sanremo, shaped and sized for espresso extraction.

questions and answers

Is a single boiler machine good enough for specialty coffee?

Yes, if it has group temperature control. D8 with the Hybrid circuit lets you set 90–98°C, and D8 PRO separately on each group. A multiboiler machine gives even more independence between groups and stability at high volume.

What is Sanremo IoT for?

Remote monitoring of the machine, changing settings and faster diagnostics. With several venues you see all machines in one place, and the service team learns about a problem earlier.
